Budget Secretary Florencio Abad Wednesday said the latest results of the Social Weather Station survey of the Enterprise on Corruption reflects the administration's success against corruption.

Abad said the results "testify to the significant strides made by the Aquino administration in combating public sector corruption, as well as to the positive impact of our anti-corruption initiatives on the business community."

The SWS said the Office of the President has led other government offices and agencies in making "radical progress" in the fight against corruption.

SWS president Mahar Mangahas, who presented the results of the 2012 Survey of Enterprises on Corruption to business leaders and other stakeholders of the Integrity Initiative, said the fight against corruption has radically progressed since 2009.

"It is a complete turnaround from bad to good," said Mangahas.

Mangahas said the biggest jump came from the Office of the President, whose rating soared from "bad" to "excellent."

The Aquino’s administration reportedly scored +81 in the category, while his predecessor scored -37 in 2009.

Respondents to the survey also rated specific offices and agencies for "net sincerity" in fighting corruption.

Abad said he also welcomed the higher net sincerity rating in fighting corruption given by the latest SWS survey to the DBM as it reaffirms the effectiveness of their reformed agenda.

"We in DBM also welcome our higher net sincerity rating in fighting corruption, which jumped to +22 this year, up from the 'Poor' rating of -17 posted in 2009," he said.

Abad said these figures "not only reaffirm the effectiveness of our reform agenda, they also push us to intensify our efforts at restoring public trust in the country’s fiscal management systems, especially with respect to budget oversight and fund expenditure."

"We extend our appreciation to our partners in and outside government -- particularly the private sector -- for their unwavering support to the Aquino administration’s campaign of instituting good governance and facilitating rapid, inclusive, and sustained economic growth," he said.

Ultimately, Abad said, "our continuing drive to transform the bureaucracy should translate not just to better business in the country -- it should also manifest in the improved delivery of public goods and services to all Filipinos, particularly the poor and marginalized."

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
