All God's creatures on the earth
Must enter through death's door,
Into that glorious mansion,
And life forevermore.
For death is earth's own passageway,
And none can go beyond,
Except they enter through that door,
And cut the earthly bond.
For those departing spirits,
The entry brings relief,
And pain and sorrow which they knew,
Seems but a moment, brief.
For in that world of spirits,
Rejoicing does take place,
When they, at last, are free from earth,
And heaven's light embrace.
The feeling of contentment
Within their heart and soul,
Is such a special witness
That they can now be whole.
And though they miss their loved ones
Whom they had left behind,
The joy they now experience,
Is a far richer kind.
So in the passing moments
That life moves ever on,
Remember, oh remember,
There awaits a glorious dawn.
