What does it mean to be 24?
A lot of things are in my mind right now;
friends, family, mom, dad, brothers, sister, cousins, grandparents, uncles, aunts, school, work,
so much more to name, to put in words.
I can't help but recollect the fact that when my father was 24 years old, he was already a licensed and certified Civil Engineer. Already a graduate of CIT (Cebu Institute of Technology) and was somewhere in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh etc). At 24 he was already engaged to my mother, at 24 he was already a bread maker for his family.
It feels wierd because I know that being 24 is an indication of middle young adulthood. 6 more years then I hit 30
One thing that I recognize is this: Time goes by too fast.
One minute we're just graduating from High School,
the next minute, College Graduation,
the next minute, we're knee-deep of work in 2nd year med.
So I look back in gratitude for the blessings, for the challenges, and most of all, the comfort and solid support The Lord God has given me. Through His blessings of family and friends. That I recognize, and praise HIM for. Then at the same time, I look forward to years ahead that HE has planned for me, whatever it may be, I give thanks so much for HIS faithfullness.
And in contemplation, that what life really is all about. Not what others do, or what they make with their lives, but it is about what you can do, with the situation you are in, the circumstance given, and the time allotted in our lives. For each and everyone is different. Unique in their own way.
So, guys, for those that are years ahead of me (hehe), and those years below me, know that life is filled with turns and stops. Filled with calm winding roads, and some filled with potholes and unpaved roadways. Do we take the paved and trodden path or the path least taken?
Its up to you, and I. Its the beauty of Free Will.
But what makes the cicumstance more sublime is the fact that through it All, we are Never Alone.
Because in each single step we make, Christ Jesus is always there with us. Above us, below us, within us, next to us, speaking to us in our ears, our hearts, our minds. He is there when we we don't wish to hear Him, He is there when we do seek HIM, He is there when we FIND Him.
Life. Its a gift. Make use of it. Christ Commands It.
