here's another poem which was also published in our school organ when i was college.
it only took me less than 10 minutes to write this because i was so inspired in one of my vacations going to cagayan de oro.
last night, my husband submitted two of my poems at
www.poetry.com where he is a member.
A Trip In A Ship
I slept in a ship,
When zephyr touched my skin
But when I looked, it's not the Wind
It's a seaman from within.
A vigorous and handsome guy,
Staring at me and smiled
A little silence passed by,
And I began to wonder why.
Hearing the tinkling sound of his heart,
Knocking, whispering though we're apart
Reading the intermittent gleams of his eyes
Saying "I love you", how very nice.
Love? What a wonderful word to hear
My heart is beating, but I have to bear
But Lo! He's a stranger to me
So how could it be.
He and me in sinuous offing
Sharing, talking and dreaming
A little love is growing deep
Oh! What a wonderful trip in a ship.
