pros do the work, rug doctor you do the work, NOT the same. Kidding, the rental units do a pretty good job for a lot cheaper. If your budget is tight, do it yourself, if you can afford it, hire the pro, it is a bit better jobif the rug doctor is doing the same job as the "pros" you're hiring the wrong pro. Compare to the equipment I use (Yes I'm a pro) a rug doctor is a joke.
If you want to hire the best, what you want is someone with a truck mount carpet cleaning unit. Minimum 5 times the cleaning power of a rug doctor, most are closer to 10 times. If they use a rotary cleaning machine it will be even more powerful.
