Ilonggos are very loving people, buutan and very loving. They are renowned as cooks, and very economically motivated people. Industrious.

Ilo-Ilo City for a time competed with Cebu City for the Title of "Queen City of the South".

Both cities have rather strong Spanish Influence. There is a strong Mestizo presence in Ilo-Ilo as well as Cebu.

My very good friend, Albert, is from Pase City in Ilo-Ilo Province. He is a 1st year medical student and what we would do was cook together after exams. My specialty is Adobong Baka/ Adobong Manok (Valencianon style). His specialty was making Sinigang Baboy.

I notice that the Ilonggos are very fond of sabaw/ soups.
