The 1st picture is taken in the beach in Barangay Catbauan, of Pintuyan , Southern Leyte. One thing that I noticed is that the beaches in Panaon Island are not made of sand, but rather black rocks. They are smooth black rocks, tho there is plentiful sharp rocks.

When I went there, I went swimming with my distant relatives there, the chinelas that i wore was destroyed the rocks underneath the water. Daghan kaayo sea urchin , one must be careful when swimming there.

At night, the fishermen hunt large squid that are 1-2 meters long. I remember going to the merkado the next day and bought a 1 meter long squid, that was our food for the day , gi sinugba, gi adobo, og gi kinilaw namo.

I notice gajud that ang mga Leyteno, mo angay ni sila og pait , they love salty food! Salty and spicy food. My one aunt, Tita Magda, who prepared food for me there used a lot of spices.

:)

When I took the pictures at the beach, I was accompanied by my cousin Jing and my Ate Aurora, within 5 minutes, there were some 10-15 children following us. One little baby boy came up to me and tugged on my shirt and looked at me. Na luoy gajud ko. My heart was so touched.

I gave the camera to my cousin Jing and I told the kids, all of them, "Mga bata, adto ta sa merkado ha, gusto mo og candy?" They did not say anything, but they followed me . I bought food for all of them , drinks, and candy, and dinner for them to take home to their family. Hehehe, let's say that that night, their parents came to the residence where I was staying and came to thank me. The next day, the same little kids were waiting for me. The little boy who tugged on my shirt came to me and hugged me. Those kids really left a lasting imprint on me.

Mao ni sila:

basin "ang babaye sa obong"..

Hmm, angay natong ipatik dinhi ang tibuok balak ni Rene Amper aron atong mahulagway ang sitwasyon ni Bay Tigs...

[Tigbao speaks]

Nahitimbakuwas ang akong panan-aw
Sa kalit nga pagdailos
Sa imong patadyong
Daw ang labtik sa pasol
Tadlas nianang nag-ugdo nga kabilin
Diha sa puti mong dughan.

Kaayong pagkaladlad
Sa duha ka biyoos, nanuyhakaw
Diha sa kabuntagon.
Kaayong ikinto ibabaw sa akong balikhaw!
Kaayong isinggit paghinay!
Kay samtang nagpanglingi ka
Kon wa bay nakaambit sa imong pagpabaya,
Nagbingkil ang mga dahon,
Gitukmod sa lunhaw ang laya
Aron motipon sa yuta;
Nasaag ang huyuhoy,
Miong-ong ang akong mga mata
Ilawom sa gamot sa kahoy;
Midailos pag samot ang patadyong
Napasapasa ang imong kaanindot,
Gisapnay ka sa mga balud,
Gisapupo ka sa tinubdan
Sa kahayag ug anino,
Gitinguha ka sa mga lusay
Aron himoong gapasan
Sa ilang alimungaw,
Gihulad kang way kaindig
Sa mga tinguha sa daman ug damgo,
Ang imong pusod garbo sa Ludabi,
Ang imong kiaykiay lunsayng Sugboanon;
Gipasangil ko sa langit
Ang akong himaya
Kay sa paghagtos sa pasol
Gibinlan mog taga ang akong kasingkasing.

;D
