Yes, they are, Dong! But dili man ka makuyawan nila if you are a good citizen because that's what Mayor Duterte has been fighting for. To reform the bad mentalities of people.
I shared this one time in another thread. I was in a jeepney when I went to Davao to visit my family. I was seated, I think, right behind the driver. I was actually appreciating the garbage can stuck in the front wall of the jeepney with a note, Throw your Garbage here!
Then suddenly I heard commotion. I thought there was kind of hold up or something because a car blocked our way. But then again, that wasn't late yet and in the middle of a busy street. Then came out this guy who was talking foul languages. PI! The rule is so simple.
No smoking in public places! How difficult is that, ha? He even pointed the sign,
No Smoking in the jeepney! Basta, ga wild jud! I realized and recongnized then it was the Mayor Duterte. He said something like if we can't follow simple rules then we become hopeless or that how much more the more complicated ones. The Mayor then ordered us passengers to take another jeepney and let the conductor return our fare. I felt so bad for the driver because he looked so humiliated. He even hid his cigarette butt under his shoes but the Mayor was quick to find the evidence.
But then again, on the second thought, it made me wonder, why do we have to disobey rules. Yes, you can smoke all you want but you are endangering the passengers with the smoke. In the end I still pity the driver but I didn't blame the Mayor.
