Skater Jan Albert Alfaro, together with his coach and videographer, paid a courtesy call to Ormoc City Mayor Richard I. Gomez at the City Mayor’s Office, today, July 12.
The purpose of the said visit is to ask for support and financial assistance from LGU-Ormoc, through Mayor Gomez, as Alfaro will be travelling to Metro Manila to represent Ormoc and region 8 in a national skateboarding competition.
Accordingly, Alfaro qualified in Red Bull’s “Mind The Gap” Online Street Skateboard Competition Qualifiers, which took place on March 15 to May 31, 2021.
The said Ormocanon skater has been chosen as one of two finalists from each region per division to compete in the National Finals, which will be held on July 16-18, 2021 in Metro Manila.
Present during the aforementioned call were SP Member Bennet Pongos, SP Member Lalaine Marcos, Ma. Cristine Garnace (Sports Commissioner) of OCSC and Founder of Ormoc Boardriding Club, together with Archie Malinao (Coach), and Aldwin Gayo (Videographer/Skater).
