First Government-owned Dialysis Center in Pangasinan
« on: October 11, 2008, 04:22:11 PM »
The first government-owned dialysis center in Pangasinan will soon be operational in January next year.

This was assured by Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. on Friday during the groundbreaking ceremonies for the center at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City.

Construction of the building will start immediately to be jointly funded by the provincial government and the San Carlos City government headed by Mayor Julier Resuello, which earmarked some P15 million counterpart.

The center will be named after Julier's father, the late San Carlos City Mayor Julian Resuello who, during his time, sought better health services for his people.

The center, according to Espino, will be equipped with 14 dialysis machines, 12 of which will be donated by the United States-based Davita Incorporated Mission headed by Peter Cayaban.

Espino said the center will implement the provincial government’s action plan to make costly specialized medical treatment available to averaged income residents, especially indigent families.

The Pangasinan governor has vowed to upgrade hospital facilities in Pangasinan for them to be at par if not better than the facilities of private hospitals and clinics.

“It’s a dream that can be realized” he said, pointing out that he plans to install fully-air-conditioned maternal and newly born care units to the six district and seven community hospitals. - PNA
