This is not Going Merry but a 1599 illustration of one of the sea giants of pre-colonial Southeast Asia. Called caracoa (kuda-kuda), this was our ancestors' favorite warship. It was first recorded by the Spaniards fifty years after the first circumnavigation of the world in 1521 being used by the Muslim warriors of Luzon.
