Naa ba'y taga-payag nato diha sa Tagbilaran aning adlawa?

I'll be at ICM between 3 to 4 pm on May 11. (Will update for last-minute changes.)

I haven't really been to the place yet so I have no idea where you could find me best. Should I stand beside the guard? I look just like my avatar. I'll very likely be with my wife and kids. I'll keep a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon just in case GEC will finally step forward from the deep mist... GEC, Sigbin, Mari, Melrose, kinsa pa man naa diha? Am sure Sir Delaguna is too preoccupied? Come on, don't let me come back to Japan not having seen any of you!

Hi Mari,

At last, a word from the TB muse... I'll stay close to the main entrance, or better still suggest a place Mari. My 16-year old eldest daughter is into computer graphics, charcoal and watercolor painting. I really want her to meet a fellow artist and photoshop expert...

Thanks a lot. This may be my last chance to log in as I will be leaving for the airport in two hours... I'll PM you my wife's contact no. as we still don't have a landline, much less an internet connection in Tagbi...

My son just came back from his last early morning soccer practice this morning and he is inconsolably tearful. His soccer friends have been giving him a sayonara (sendoff) party almost daily since the start of the weeklong holiday here and his bags are all full of his friends' gifts and memorabilia... He has a very strong bond with them. Who says tough guys don't cry? It really breaks my heart, too, to wrest him away from his friends, if only temporarily, into a new world... Can't show him my tears, but I comfort myself by saying this will prepare him for life's inevitable changes and unexpected pains which make us stronger men.

Please pray for the safety of our travel.

I'm back in Japan, with a heavy heart weighed down by sweet memories, and teary eyes washed by Panglao's salty wind.

This is really my first time to upload fotos. I'll try, following Mike's instruction.Yehey, seems I've got it done.

With Mari and Jing. Despite Mari's hectic sked last May 11, she really took the time to meet me.

The following day, Paul and Vida (aka Melrose) also came to meet me at the Buzz. GEC was nowhere to be found.

Hey, I also had an EB with those real huge eye-balls, the tarsier.

At the Loboc riverbank, with my wife (beside me), son Paolo, youngest daughter Sarah and my sister Ging with her son Louie. Camera-shy daughter Raya is photographer.

How can I thank you for making these encounters possible? As I mentioned before, I could spend a lifetime scouring Bohol for kindred souls, but at TB, it's possible to build friendships in just a matter of weeks and months.

Ben, I have realized that geographical roots have a big role in our lives. You've mentioned of the impenetrability of the Japanese community in which the Filipinos in Japan have no way of penetrating into the elite Japanese culture.

A Thai friend of mine was educated in Australia and New Zealand for 10 years, but during those years he wasn't able to really integrate his life with the Australian students and into the Australian community. Former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin named his party "Thai Rak Thai" (in English Thais love Thais)

Filipinos must love Filipinos. Filipinos must help Filipinos. Boholanos must love all Filipinos regardless of provincial origin and upbringing.

In your case, you will always find beautiful souls in TB because birds of the same feather are the same birds (I mean "flock together").

Really, Bene san? I wish I can be home soon and start my pastry shop there in Bohol. I also plan to share my skill by providing short courses in cake and cookie decorating and of course, baking too!

Great! Your plans jibe with mine. Mingaw man diay ning mahimong OFW, which is what I am actually feeling now that my family is already in the Philippines. But I'll be going home every three to four months... In three to five years, I intend to make Tagbilaran or Cebu (where there are many Japanese companies for my translation and documentation) my main base.

Kung ikaw mukuha lang kag outlet sa usa ka dako nga mall, OK na imong retirement. Murag wa may crisis sa Bohol. ICM is teeming with shoppers even on regular days, rain or shine... I think if you have tried entrepreneurship overseas, like myself who is running my own small company, you don't have to worry much about settling in the Philippines. You even have the advantage of using your overseas network, technology and experience overseas.
