SINAS: PRESS MANHUNT VS. WANTED CPP-NPA MEMBERS 

Police units were instructed anew to “intensify implementation of court processes with particular emphasis on Warrants of Arrest against CPP-NPA-NDF personalities wanted by the law for criminal cases.”

PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas,  cascaded these instructions to Police Regional Offices and National Operational Support Units in support of Executive Order No. 70 creating the National Task Force  to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC)

The orders came amid recent developments in the campaign against Wanted Persons that led to an armed encounter in Surigao del Sur.

Reports reaching the PNP Command Center in Camp Crame from Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr., PNP Regional Director in the Caraga Region, disclosed the death of ALVIN LUQUE alias Joaquin Jacinto,/ Joaquin Cordero, and an unidentified male companion during a police operation at 1:15 AM on December 10,2020 at Hermenia’s Resort, Brgy. San Agustin Sur, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.

Caramat said what was supposed to be a routine police operation to serve a Warrant of Arrest turned awry when the suspects opened fire at arresting officers leading to a shootout.   

"The PNP leadership has made it a point for our units to give premium on our law enforcement functions, in our drive to run after wanted criminals and other lawless elements, despite the risks in the lives of our policemen while arresting these bandits pestering  our society", Sinas said as he commended the operatives involved in the encounter.

Luque is the subject of four (4) separate Warrants of Arrest issued by four Regional Trial Court branches in Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte for the crime of Kidnapping with Serious Illegal Detention, Attempted Murder, and violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012, Caramat said.

A DND-DILG Joint Order offered P6-million for information leading to the arrest of Luque who is NDF Mindanao Spokesperson and member of the Executive Committee of Komisyon Mindanao (KOMMID) of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

Scene of Crime Operations (SOCO) forensic examiners recovered from the scene of encounter a cal.45 Remington pistol. A fragmentation grenade, a 40mm high-explosive ammunition, 500 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, IED firing mechanism with 15 meters of electric wire, blasting cap, battery CPP-NPA-NDF flags, and ssorted subversive documents.
