READ: The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has put into place additional health and safety protocols amid the rising cases of COVID-19 infection in the country.
PPA Memorandum Circular No. 08-2021 dated 22 March 2021, aims to help government to reduce the COVID-19 cases particularly to and from the National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal or the now being referred to as NCR Plus Bubble.
Said MC provides that ports under the jurisdiction of the agency shall continue to operate in order to ensure unhampered flow and movement of the local and international supply chains.
It mandates the strict adherance to health and safety protocol against COVID-19 at ports' passenger terminal buildings, facilities and offices including the conduct of frequent disinfection and prohition of entry for individuals exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
The MC reiterates that only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) defined in IATF Resolution No. 104 and DOTr Advisory dated 22 March 2021 shall be allowed into and out the ports managed by PPA.
