Press Release: The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) bans the unnecessary use of single-use plastic products in all facilities under its jurisdiction.
This is in compliance with National Solid Waste Management Commission Resolution No. 1363s. 2020 dated 12 February 2020.
Starting July 18, the single-use plastic products prohibited to be used in any facility controlled by PPA include:
1. Plastic cups thinner than 0.2 mm
2. Plastic drinking straws
3. Plastic spoons
4. Plastic forks
5. Plastic knives
6. Plastic labo and thinned-filmed sando bags thinner than the 15 microns.
PPA is imposing the initiative in consonance with existing rules issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
