More reshuffling within PNP as retirement of senior cops triggers movement

MANILA, Philippines — At least 13 senior officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) would assume new posts as the retirement of several officials triggered movements within the police force, officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said Wednesday.

In a statement sent by the PNP’s Public Information Office (PIO), Danao said the minor reorganization was based upon the recommendations of the Senior Officers’ Placement and Promotion Board.

Among the officials getting new posts are:

Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, Acting Director for Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM)
Brig. Gen. Jon Arnaldo, Acting Director of National Police Training Institute (NPTI)
Brig. Gen. Lawrence Coop, Chief of Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agencies (SOSIA)
Brig. Gen.  Samuel Nacion, Director, Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG)
Brig. Gen. Robert Rodriguez Acting Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM)
Brig. Gen. Constancio Chinayog Jr., Deputy Director for Personnel and Records Management
Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, Deputy Director for Logistics;
Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Acting Deputy Commander, Area Police Command- Southern Luzon
Brig. Gen. Oliver Enmodias, Acting Deputy Commander, Area Police Command- Eastern Mindanao
Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, Director, Anti-Cybercrime Group
Col. Wilson Asueta, OIC, Office of the Senior Executive Assistant to the Chief PNP
Col. Christopher Birung, Acting Chief of Staff, PNP Academy (PNPA);
Col. Joseph Arguelles, Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM)
“The retirement this month of senior officers triggered an upward movement in the echelon and opened opportunities for career advancement of other senior officers,” Danao explained.

“This reassignment as recommended by the Senior Officers’ Placement and Promotion Board is based on the officers’ performance and how they can better contribute to the current operational thrusts of the PNP,” he added.

The new designations, the PNP-PIO said, will take effect May 18.

This is the recent movement within the PNP’s hierarchy after former PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos stepped down from office as he reached the mandatory age for retirement.

Prior to Carlos’ retirement, Danao — now acting PNP chief — moved up from heading the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to being the chief of the directorial staff (TCDA).

On Monday, Danao placed former Eastern Mindanao PNP head Lt. Gen. Manuel Abu as TCDA chief.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
