The bayanihan spirit is alive in the House of Representatives as its officials and employees, led by Secretary General Jocelia Bighani Sipin, participate in the relief operations initiated by Speaker Lord Allan Velasco to bring aid to the victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
The volunteers from the Secretariat and Congressional staff are preparing relief goods which the House will efficiently deliver to communities affected by the typhoon.
Earlier, Speaker Velasco also spearheaded a fund drive for the victims of Typhoons Quinta and Rolly, with House Members pledging monetary donations and even their salaries for November. With this, the House was able to raise cash donations, aside from the non-perishable items that were dropped in “Mula sa Kongreso para sa Pilipino†donation boxes set-up in various locations in the House Complex. #18thCongress
