NOT FOR MONEY, BUT FOR LEGACY

If we are to be defined by our work, let it be because we accomplished something that would create a lasting impression to those whom we have dedicated our craft, and not just because we benefited from our labor.
This is what Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade wants to impart to our people, as he shared that working for the welfare of future generations should be the better cycle of one’s life.
For Secretary Tugade, leaving his legacy and making a difference is more fulfilling and important now, compared to the past, when the primary motivation for working was merely for the accumulation of personal wealth.
He also paid the ultimate compliment to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, whom he credits for inspiring him to stay in government service when he could have opted to leave and go back to the private sector. What made him decide to continue as a public servant is his desire to help the President realize his self-imposed goal of making the Filipino life more comfortable.
For Secretary Tugade, this is the profound legacy he wants to leave behind.
