Press Release: DPWH-AFP Leads Groundbreaking of TIKAS 50-Bed Capacity Hospital Building
CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz –The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Armed Forces of the Philippines led the groundbreaking ceremony here of the 50-Bed Capacity Hospital in Camp General Macario Peralta Jr., on Saturday, July 03, 2021.
Architect Vicente Rabago Jr., representing Engr. Lea Delfinado, DPWH Regional Director joined AFP Chief of Staff Geneneral Cirilito Sobejana who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the groundbreaking ceremony that was hosted by the 3rd Infantry Division Commander Major General Eric C Vinoya
The project was granted through the Department of National Defense and DPWH convergence program under Tatag ng Imprastraktura sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) Project which aims to reinforce the AFP’s capability to provide service and security.
Soldiers, their dependents and the local populace near the camp will benefit from the Php100, 311, 525 worth of project funded thru the government’s Build Build Build Program.
The said project involves the construction of two-storey Health Service Building comprising an approximate of 2 736 sq meters.
MGen Vinoya expresses his gratitude to the continuous support of the Department of Public Works and Highways to the Army’s 3ID through the construction of the enhancement of 3ID Hospital to help save lives and for the better health condition of the soldiers in the region.
“With the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, the demand for larger space and better health accommodation also increase. Thus, this project is indeed timely and significant to accommodate patients, both military personnel and dependents," said MGen Vinoya.
On the other hand, General Cirilito E Sobejana who graced the ceremony, emphasized in his message, “This project really motivates our people because our intention really is to strike a good balance between mission accomplishment and looking after the morale and welfare of our men and women. That’s why our facilities, our billeting facilities, the Headquarters and other mission essential facilities including the hospital boost the morale and welfare of our troops during the time of pandemic.”
