The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) test-fired new weapons systems purchased from Israel via government to government agreement. The remote-controlled weapons system — the first-of-its-kind acquisition in PCG history — aims to improve the Coast Guard's maritime security and law enforcement capability, particularly toward combating piracy and the proliferation of lawless elements at sea.
Israel's defense attaché Raz Shabtay was also present in the demonstration.
Israel is a reliable partner and will continue to be a friend of the Philippines especially in defense cooperation.
