Philippine Army’s HADR unit sharpens skills
The 525th Engineer Combat “Mandirigtas” Battalion of 51st Engineer Brigade facilitated a first aid and emergency & disaster preparedness training to the Colegio San Agustin (CSA) community at the school’s gymnasium as a part of the unit's capacity-building program in Biñan City, Laguna last May 24, 2022.
The training activity is geared at educating and assessing the readiness of the CSA community members in mitigating and/or preventing casualties and property damage in the wake of calamities or disasters.
In a related development, Mandirigtas troopers conducted rope rescue drills in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on May 20, 2022. The drill is geared at equipping soldier-rescuers with “operational level” knowledge and skills in various rope rescue disciplines, which include underwater and low-angle rescue.
The said activities are in line with Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.’s thrust to enhance the individual skills of soldiers and upgrade unit capabilities to bolster their mission-effectiveness.
