Officials of the Manila International Container Port (MICP) Piers and Inspection Division, headed by Dr. Siegfred Manaois, and the Wharfingers of Off-Dock Container Yard – Container Freight Stations (O/CY-CFS), paid a courtesy visit to Acting District Collector Arnoldo Famor on November 10.
Gerardo Macatangay, team leader of the Office of the District Collector’s O/CY-CFS and E-TRACC Monitoring Unit, also attended the meeting. The unit is tasked to monitor the day-to-day operations of the CY-CFS and oversee operational issues and concerns of the Port.
As the forefront of border protection measures of the Port, Piers Inspection Division (PID), in coordination with the Bay Service Section and along with other concerned offices, is monitoring the gates of the entrance and clearance of goods in the territory.
Moreover, they are committed to intensify their mandate in reporting illegal activities with the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service and Enforcement Security Service of the Port.
The MICP has 16 CY-CFS with 17 wharfingers who work hand-in-hand to implement border security and prevent fraudulent release or withdrawal of goods from Customs facilities.
Aligned with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the MICP headed by District Collector Famor and under the guidance of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, is modernizing and streamlining its operational procedures to benefit BOC stakeholders and Filipino consumers.#
