‘STICK TO DIPLOMATIC AND PEACEFUL MEANS’
Amid the Ukraine-Russia crisis, the Department of Foreign Affairs on Friday urged the international community to reaffirm its commitment to the Manila Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of International Disputes.
According to DFA, the Manila Declaration provides the means used for peaceful settlement of international conflicts such as negotiation, inquiry, mediation, and judicial settlement.
“In the present crisis, where the situation is not irreversible and there is no compelling reason for any of the protagonists to resort to hostile actions, turning to the Manila Declaration is the pragmatic and decent way to go,” DFA said in a statement.
DFA further called on Russia and Ukraine to only use diplomatic means to conserve international peace and security. (Facebook/DFA)
