The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Davao facilitated the expeditious clearance of the 210,000 Pfizer-Vaccines that arrived on Davao International Airport (DIA) last June 10 and 11, 2021.
The activity was led by the Department of Health (DOH) Davao Region together with the City Mayor’s Office, Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease XI, Regional Task Force Against COVID-19 and the City Health Office.
After a short virtual acceptance ceremony, the vaccines were immediately loaded to the designated refrigerator vans and was transported to the DOH Cold Room Storage at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
This is part of the Port’s preparation for the anticipated direct importation of the vaccines to Mindanao where the Office continuously coordinates with BOC NAIA and the BOC Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group (AOCG) for the seamless customs clearance of the vaccines.
The BOC Davao has already conducted an inter-agency online meeting with DOH in Davao Region where the expeditious clearance and release of COVID-19 vaccines were discussed.
