IGOROT WAR HERO | Corporal Gener Tinangag who hails from Barlig Mt. Province lost his life while saving his wounded comrades amidst heavy machine gunfire and grenades from the enemies.
Tinangag showed the ultimate heroism and bravery when he did not retreat from rescuing his comrades despite being shot to the stomach by the enemy sniper and peppered with grenade shrapnel.
Posthumously awarded the military's highest honor, Medal for Valor, "for a conspicuous deed of personal bravery or self-sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty that distinguishes the recipient from his comrades.”
