Is this something similar to Newman's Association?

As in, just a Student Catholic Association of some kind?

I was a member of the Student Catholic Action in Pasay City High School 1964-1967. We were grouped/tutored by some college students from St Scholastica, and St PaulÂ´s Academy. It was very interesting because we are all public high school students under the care of these mestiza colehiyalas . We were given religion classes outside our curriculum since we are in public school. The main issue is learning and living with Jesus Christ in focus. We are linked with other schools like Arellano high. There were units as core group. A couple of years later it was suspended because it was suspected as a breeding place of political activism during Marcos era.

I was once a member of SCA back in my high school years in Guindulman. The school is ran by sisters of ARM (Agustinian Recollect Missionaries). We were then trained to teach cathecism in the local public elementary schools, and share them our talents by holding off-campus convocation programs. What a lifetime exprerience is it to be an SCA!

I am an SCA member also when I was in high school. I still memorize the SCA opening and closing prayer.

Nahinumdum ka pa ba noong nag hold ta ug Convocation Program sa Mayuga which is located almost 7 kilometers from our school? Pastilan jod natong binaktasay nagkadunsingot sa init. Pero the activity was so refreshing and a learning experience.

member ko sa SCA way back in high school from 1989-1993. sige man gani ko attend mga gatherings ug convention before with other SCAn's from other schools.

Slacky, you participated in Taize prayer? That is great! Some songs in the catholic masses are from Taize, they are ecumenical in nature.

Member sad ko sa Student Catholic action way back in High School. President pa gani diay ko ug tungod sa kadugayon nalimot na ko sa opening prayer sa SCA. It's nice to know daghan diay member sa SCA diri.
