CEF is a World wide organization of born-again believers. Its objective is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the local church for Christian living.

Founded in 1937 by Jesse Irvin Overholtzer at age 60, CEF is ministering in 150 countries. In the USA and Canada there are about 700 full-time workers and estimated 40,000 volunteers. Over 1,200 missionaries are doing God's work worldwide

In the Philippines, CEF started in 1952. It is currently managed by a National Director and a National Board. There are over 80 local workers or area coordinators in the country today.

CEF-Bohol started mission on August 11, 2001. Recently, Bohol was divided into two chapter missions:
- Bohol 1 based in Tagbilaran and providing support to Siquijor mission
- Bohol 2 based in Ubay
