On July 17, 2007 Bohol Federation of Disabled Persons, Incorporated merrily celebrated the 29th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week at their Tamblot Center in this city with a theme: Kapag may access, may success.
Invited on the occasion as their Guest of Honor was Congressman Edgar M. Chatto of the First District of Bohol who was represented by his chief of staff, Former Board Member and Antequera Mayor, Mr. Isabelito B. Tongco. In his speech on behalf of the solon, he congratulated the group for coming out in the open and show to the world that physical disability should never be a hindrance to success. Indeed, if they only have proper access especially to government agencies, life will be bit easier than contemplated. He also assured of Chatto’s continued unwavering support to all their projects and programs.
It may be noted that Cong. Chatto was instrumental in the completion of their center. He consistently supports marginal sectors in the community including Senior Citizens, Farmers and Fisher Folks. He also facilitated the construction of Small Coconut Farmers Center at the Philippine Coconut Authority and fish ports in various areas in the first congressional district.
Likewise present on the occasion were: Engr. Junin Caberte, representing Gov. Erico B. Aumentado; Former Mayor Jose Ma. Rocha; and Provincial Social Welfare Development Officer Constancia Tunacao.
