diha may nigawas nga issue nga ang actual ug what is shown sa tv lahi kay kuno ang ubang fireworks sa tv computer-generated na para nindot tan-awon sa viewers
so far, everything i've read about this (computer-generated fireworks for tv viewers) is all about beijing olympics 2008 and not london 2012. but here's a great piece about beijing's:
Beijing 2008
According to Beijing Times, all fireworks were authentic. Just to clear things up, the "only" Computer Generated (CG) shot was the 29 footprints toward the stadium. 28 of them, to be precise, were computer generated. The last one shown inside of the stadium was a real shot.
That being said, 28 footprints outside of the stadium were actually lit and real - only the "shot shown on TV" was fake. We weren't shown the real actual shot, but instead the CG one, because:
1) It's almost impossible for helicopter to catch up with the fireworks
2) It'd be very dangerous for the helicopter to be there in the first place
So in short, all fireworks we saw on TV were real except for the 1st-28th footprints shot - they were there but it had to be shown using CG due to technicality issue. There weren't "fake" fireworks. Only "fake" shot. -
