Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, New Jersey is mourning the loss of a recent graduate who passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident over the weekend.
Authorities say Josh Moren, 18, was driving a motorcycle that was involved in a wreck with another motorcycle and two cars Saturday afternoon on Route 47 in Dennis Township, New Jersey.
Moren, a standout baseball player, was among 93 graduates to receive diplomas on June 2, 2008.
Sacred Heart High School released the following statement via their Web site:
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Joshua Moren, Class of 2008 on June 21, 2008. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Eternal rest, grant to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."
Three other victims suffered serious injuries in the accident and were flown to area hospitals. Their names and conditions were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigating by the Cape May county Prosecutor's Office Fatal Traffic Accident Unit.
Josh Moren, a Filipino-American will be missed by his classmates, his teachers, and by the college that he was supposed to attend this coming September, 2008.
Josh Moren has had an outstanding year offensively, but he's been just as good at shortstop for Sacred Heart, the No. 3 team in the state. (Daily Journal file photo/Craig Matthews)Linkback:
