ZAMBOANGA CITY -- First district Rep. Celso Lobregat on Saturday, Aug. 19, led the inauguration and turnover of the P11.3 million school building project in this city.
The project, which consisted of two buildings with four classrooms each, was constructed at the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial Senior High School in Barangay Sta. Maria, this city.
The school buildings were constructed by a private contractor under the supervision of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineering office.
The construction of the two school buildings was initiated by Lobregat and funded through the Department of Education (DepEd) School Building Program.
Lobregat advised the school officials and students to put to good used the new school buildings given them.
The completion of the project has increased the number of classrooms to 48 in Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial Senior High School.
It also reduced the classroom-student ratio to 24 from 29 per classroom. The school has 1,180 students.
City Schools Division Superintendent Felix Romy Triambulo has thanked Lobregat for initiating the project.
