As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, forecasters spotted the eye of Typhoon Urduja at 75 kilometers northeast of Surigao City, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center.
Public storm warning signal number 1 was already raised in provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar in the Visayas, as well as Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusal del Norte, Dinagat Island, and Siargao Island in Mindanao.
Pagasa said the typhoon will be experienced in Visayas and Mindanao until Friday.
