Tropical Cyclone: ALERT
ISSUED AT:11:00 PM, 02 October 2018

TYPHOON "QUEENIE" HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTHWESTWARD.

- The typhoon is not expected to make landfall in any part of the country.
- The trough of TY "QUEENIE" will bring light to at times moderate rains over the eastern section of the country.
- Sea travel remains risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon due to rough to very rough seas associated with the Typhoon.
- It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday morning (05 October).

Location of eye/center: At 10:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "QUEENIE" was located based on all available data at 1,000 km East of Calayan, Cagayan (19.2°N, 131.0°E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 200 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 245 km/h
Forecast Movement: Moving Northwest at 20 km/h

48 Hour(Thursday evening):605 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes(24.0°N, 126.4°E)
72 Hour(Friday evening): 915 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(28.2°N, 125.0°E)
96 Hour(Saturday evening):1,475 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(33.1°N, 126.4°E)

NO TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next update to be incorporated in the 4 AM Public Weather Forecast and in the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
