The #SupremeCourtPH En Banc today issued temporary restraining orders (TRO) in five election cases.
1. In G.R. No. 277177, the Supreme Court issued a TRO prohibiting the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) from declaring Subair Guinthum Mustapha a nuisance candidate for Senator in the 2025 elections.
2. In G.R. No. 277514, the Supreme Court issued a TRO prohibiting the COMELEC from declaring Charles Savellano a nuisance candidate for the position of Ilocos Sur's 1st District Representative in the 2025 elections.
3. In G.R. No. 277540, the Supreme Court issued a TRO which stopped the implementation of the COMELEC Resolution which, in effect, prevented Chito Bulatao Balintay, a member of the indigenous peoples of Zambales, from filing his certificate of candidacy for Zambales Governor in the 2025 elections.
4. In G.R. No. 277608, the Supreme Court issued a TRO which prohibits the COMELEC from disqualifying Edgar R. Erice as candidate for Representative of the 2nd District of Caloocan in the 2025 elections.
5. In G.R. No. 277719, the Supreme Court issued a TRO which prohibits the COMELEC from cancelling the certificate of candidacy of Florendo De Ramos Ritualo Jr. for Sangguniang Panlungsod Member of San Juan City's 1st District in the 2025 elections.
