PUBLIC ADVISORY:
Pursuant to STCW Circular No. 2018-02 entitled “Standards for Mandatory Training Courses Under the STCW Convention, 1978, as amended”, the following courses are not included in the Mandatory Training Courses:
1. Management Level Course (MLC) for Marine Deck and Engine Officers
2. Operational Level Course (OLC) for Marine Deck and Engine Officers
3. Electro-Technical Officers (ETO)
4. Electro-Technical Ratings (ETR)
On the Minimum Requirements in the Assessment of Competence of Seafarers, the following Training Courses per Function shall only be required from seafarers who failed three (3) times in their examination or assessment on said Function:
1. Management Level Course (MLC) for Marine Deck and Engine Officers
2. Operational Level Course (OLC) for Marine Deck and Engine Officers
3. Electro-Technical Officers (ETO)
