Synopsis:
Tail-end of a cold front affecting Northern and Eastern Luzon. Intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Mindanao including Palawan.
Forecast:
Northern and Eastern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers. Southern Mindanao including Palawan will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon with moderate to rough seas. Light to moderate winds blowing from the east and northeast will prevail over Visayas and coming from the southeast and east over Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be slight to moderate.
Weather Outlook: Dec. 29-Jan. 1
Feel free to travel across Metro Manila and much of Central Luzon this weekend given the expected generally fair weather.
Tagaytay City and Clark Zone as well as Baguio are also indicated to remain mostly rain-free.
Given the effects of a tail end of a cold front, Tuguegarao and Laoag can continue to see shower activity, so will the Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon, Puerto Prinsesa, Bacolod, Cebu and Tacloban.
Much of Mindanao may have to make room for hit-or-miss showers and possible thunderstorms over the next two days.
Meantime, PAGASA says, there are no tropical cyclones in sight, and much of the country can see relatively good weather for the remainder of the year and into the start of 2008.
