Shipbuilding Jobs in the Philippines
« on: March 02, 2017, 04:10:16 PM »
Additional 6,000 Jobs in Shipbuilding Approaching Philippines. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez (center) and Tsuneshi Shipbuilding Corporation President Kenji Kawano (2nd from L) recently (28, February) met to discuss the expansion plans of the Shipbuilding Industry in the country. On the occasion of his official working visit to Japan last October 26, 2016, two projects were signed and witnessed by President Rodrigo Duterte. These projects involved the 120-hectare Ship Reuse Center in Negros Occidental and the Biomass Fuel Project in Mindanao with initial investments/ job generation prospects of PhP 5.2 billion and 6,000 direct and indirect workers and PhP 5 billion and 20,000 direct and indirect jobs respectively. The investments for the first project will be used for the purchase and setting up of a Skid Barge and Ship Reuse Center. The investments for the second project will be used for a biomass plantation that will be implemented in phases, beginning with Napier Grass in Negros and “Buyo-Buyo” in Mindanao. The biomass will be processed in a new pelletizing factory for export to Japan and for use in local renewable energy projects. The discussions also covered a prospective third project on Ship Recycling, using the latest internationally accredited green technologies. Said project will generate potential investments of anywhere between PhP 5-10 billion and total job generation conservatively estimated at 6000. Due to the very high quality of steel components of ocean going vessels, the steel-recycling project will not only meet the country's requirements for inter-island transport and logistics but also cover the steel requirements of major infrastructure work. Secretary Lopez assured executives of DTI's support and cooperation in the setting-up and operations of the three projects. Also in the picture are STR Dita Angara-Mathay (rightmost), Tsuneshi Shipbuilding Corporation Deputy President Yasunori Kohatake (leftmost) and Executive Officer Takatoshi Ikenishi (2nd from L). END

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
