COTABATO CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) on Monday filed charges against two drug suspects following their arrest Sunday.
Valente Cariño, PDEA-ARMM officer-in-charge, identified the suspects as Disomimba Abo alias Bobby Abo, member of a local drug group operating along Jose Lim Street, Cotabato City and Parida Suraik, 36 of Barangay Poblacion 2, also in Cotabato City.
Confiscated from Abo were 13 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride with a market value of Php90,000, five short firearms with magazine and ammunition, four mobile phones and bank documents.
Abo was reported to be a middle level drug supplier in the city while Suraik, a woman, was in the PDEA-ARMM drug watch list.
Suraik was arrested after she handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to a PDEA agent who posed as buyer. Seized from her were seven other sachets of illegal drugs, marked money and shabu paraphernalia.
The two, now detained at PDEA-ARMM lock up cell, were charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Abo also faces charges for violation of RA 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives. (PNA)
