A Commission on Audit (COA) report has tagged Napoles as being involved in questionable non-government organizations that received pork barrel funds from lawmakers for ghost projects.
Lorna Kapunan, Napoles's lawyer, welcomed Reyes's offer, although she said they have yet to be approached by any Church official.
"Magandang development nga ito, kung totoo nga 'yun. Wala pang officially nakipag-usap sa akin," Kapunan said in the same television report.
The controversy over the alleged misuse of pork barrel funds, which led to a massive nationwide street protest on Monday, has forced President Benigno Aquino III to order the abolition of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
The PDAF is only one of the country's pork barrel system, which also includes the Various Infrastructure including Local Projects formerly called Public Works Fund, and other discretionary funds. — Marc Jayson Cayabyab/KBK, GMA News
