The EDSA People Power Commission (EPPC), in coordination with the Makati City government, held a
wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of martyred former Senator Benigno S. Aquino Jr. at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City Thursday afternoon as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
Mrs. Maria V. Montelibano, program chairman of the EDSA 25 Celebration, graced the event that started at 3:15 p.m., together with EPPC Vice Chairman Christopher Carrion and Commissioner Cezar Sarino.
Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay, together with Councilors Arnold Magpantay, Virgilio Hilario and Henry Jacome and City Administrator Marjorie De Veyra joined the wreath-laying rites.
Meanwhile, Jose Alejandro V. Montelibano, member of the EPPC, announced the ceremonial unveiling of an acrylic monument of Ninoy Aquino at the Makati City Hall quadrangle on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.
The young Montelibano said the sculpture made by national artist Abdulmari Imao is about volunteerism, a symbolism of a new EDSA, keeping the spirit of EDSA. = pna
