PSG receives new BBM Combat Vehicle
The Presidential Security Group has newly added in its inventory an all-purpose vehicle ¼ ton Jeep coined as the "BBM Combat Vehicle", with Euro 4 standard and Isuzu DMax platform.
The vehicle's blessing ceremony was spearheaded by PSG Group Commander, BGEN RAMON P ZAGALA PA together with key PSG personnel.
The Jeep was turned over to PSG by retired MGEN CARLOS B HOLGANZA PA who is the President and CEO of a fast-rising Integrated Security Solution Company named Aegus Management Inc. The company has proposed the said vehicle for troop mobility in relation to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's prioritization on the Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) Program of our country.
The SRDP was a pilot program of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos who issued Presidential Decree 415 in March 1974, authorizing the Secretary of National Defense to enter into defense contracts to implement projects covered by SRDP provisions.
The SRDP is envisioned to promote limited dependence on outside support for our defense requirements. Likewise, self-reliance on our country's defense manufacturing capabilities coupled with the full utilization of our own natural resources are its foundations. With a clear mandate through SRDP, the Philippines ventured successfully into many projects which include among others the Delta Mini-Cruiser that were first produced with a joint venture agreement with Toyota Japan.
Similar to this, the donation of the BBM Combat Vehicle is the current administration's step on the continuation of the long-delayed SRDP program of the government on troop mobility.
