ILOILO CITY-- Performing units and supportive stakeholders of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) were recognized during the 116th Police Service Anniversary held at the Camp Martin Delgado here.
Police Director-General Ronald M. Dela Rosa, who was in this city for the two-day celebration starting Monday, led in the giving of awards.
“As we pay tribute to the gallantry of our past police heroes , we now also celebrate the achievements and victories of our present day heroes—the awardees,” he said in his message.
“Continue with the good work and be the model of exemplary service to the rest of the PRO 6 members,” he urged.

The individual awardees included Senior Superintendent Julio T. Gustilo Jr for Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration, Senior Superintendent Christopher E. Tambungan, Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations and non-uniformed personnel Mylene Peldonia (supervisory level) and Maria Liz E. Gabayeron (non-supervisory level).
Also, Chief Inspector Aron Palomo was Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration; Chief Inspector Charlie B Sustento Jr, Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operation; SPO1 Nida L Gregas, Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration; SPO1 Michael D Pontoy, Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation; PO2 Gerome P Jalbuena, Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Office for Administration; PO3 Shaney P Allanic, Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Office for Operation.
The Iloilo City Police Office was awarded Best Police Provincial/City Office; Roxas City Police Station, Roxas City Police Station, Best Component City Police Station; San Jose MPS, Antique PPO, Best Municipal Police Station (Category A); Sibalom MPS, Antique PPO, Best Municipal Police Station (Category B and C); Iloilo City Police Station 6, Best Numbered Police Station; Capiz Provincial Public Safety Company, Best Provincial Public Safety Company.

The Regional Communications and Electronics 6 as best regional administrative unit; Regional Public Safety Company, best regional public safety company and Regional Highway Patrol Unit 6 as best regional operational support unit for unit awardees.
The Regional Operations and Plans Division 6 was awarded as outstanding unit performance evaluation rating of PRO 6 for 2016 nationwide.
PO2 Ryan S Alfin and PO1 Jan Brave A Vicente received citation for wounded police in action while Nelson C Uygongco, Architect Ma. Regina Falconite and Keven Kristopher K Wong were cited for their support to the improvement of some PRO 6 facilities.
PRO 6 also recognized outstanding barangay peace action teams (BPATs) and outstanding local government units to include Iloilo City for highly urbanized city.
Dela Rosa today witnessed Special Weapons and Tactic (SWAT) challenge participated by three competing teams. (PNA)
