#PowerBloc Representatives met with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) officials via Zoom earlier today, August 28, to shed light on the pressing concerns of the rural electrification sector.
With the budget season approaching, the EC-MCO Representatives reached out to DBM to emphasize the role of total rural electrification, which was ordered by President Duterte to be completed by 2022.
To ensure funding, Rep. Godofredo N. Guya of RECOBODA moved to push for legislation in the form of Convergence Budgeting. By filing a House Resolution, the National Electrification Administration can work with a budget convergence approach where they can work with related agencies and collaborate with them to maximize the funds of the government and to fast-track total rural electrification.
