ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Police authorities arrested a couple and seized PhP1.2 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in a slum village in this city, an official announced Saturday.
Supt. Nonito Asdai, Police Station 6 chief, identified the suspects as Prince Valliant Garcia, 29, and his wife, Aiza, 28.
Asdai said the couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation at around 2:40 a.m. at Buggok Phase I, Barangay Kasanyangan.
Asdai said the buy-bust operation was carried out following days of surveillance on the couple’s illegal drug trade.
He said seized from the suspects’ possessions were PhP500 marked money and, seven packs, including one large and one medium size, of suspected shabu with PhP1.2 million estimated market value.
He said the couple was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (PNA)
