Police raid yields firearms, shabu in Masbate town

CAMP BONNY SERRANO, Masbate City, Julu 1 (PNA) -- A police raid in the residence of a suspected drug pusher in Uson, Masbate, at 5:07 a.m. Monday resulted in his arrest and the confiscation of firearms, ammunition and shabu.
Police Senior Supt. Prexy Dugas Tanggawohn, officer-in-charge of the Masbate Police Provincial Office (MPPO), identified the arrested pusher as Rainier B. Pepillo, a resident of Barangay Buenavista, Uson, Masbate.
Tanggawohn said the raiding team led by Senior Insp. Leus Anselmo Prima, Uson chief of police, confiscated seven transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a caliber 9mm pistol with inserted magazine, two live ammunition for caliber 9mm and 13 empty shells for .45-caliber pistol from Pepillo.
The operation was armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Manuel L. Sese of Regional Trial Court Branch 45, Masbate City.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Uson Municipal Police Station and charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 are now being prepared against him.
Tanggawohn lauded the town’s police force for taking a swift action in their fight against illegal drugs.(PNA)
