5th Special Forces Battalion recovers communist terrorist war materiel in South Cotabato

The 5th Special Forces “Primus Inter Pares” Battalion (5SFB) under the operational control of the 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division recovered Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) war materiel after an armed encounter at Sitio Uhay, Brgy. Ned, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato on October 12, 2022.

During the conduct of a military operation, the operating troops encountered the communist terrorist of the Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR) led by Manuel Fernandez also known as “Bobo” or “Ampog”, who is the secretary of FSMR. Among the recovered war materiel were one 5.56mm M16A1 rifle, magazines, ammunition, propaganda materials, and personal items.

The Army leadership lauded the 5SFB troops on their relentless military operations which resulted in the recovery of CTG war materiel in South Cotabato.
