SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, ANTIQUE, Aug. 8-- Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Pinol is set to visit Antique province on Wednesday to distribute 50 fiber glass boats to the fishermen and other agriculture farm support.
Antique Governor Rhodora J.Cadiao said in an interview on Tuesday that she is looking forward to the agriculture secretary's visit where she will also take the time to discuss the plan of reopening the Antique National Agricultural School (ANAS) in San Remigio town.
The governor said that there are now five students who have taken interest to enroll in the College of Agriculture that will be opened by the University of Antique in the old ANAS that was closed down years ago.
Cadiao also expressed her gratitude in advance for the many support the Pinol will be bringing to the province where he also has his family roots.
Meanwhile, Antique Provincial Agriculturist Nicolasito “Nick” Calawag said that the secretary will also hold a forum Tapatan among the farmers and fisherfolks at the covered court of Hamtic town.
Calawag said that during the previous visit of the secretary he also distributed 128 motor bancas to the fisherfolks.
There were also seeds and fertilizers that he committed to give that were already given to the farmer beneficiaries.
