Pinay Actress joins Philippine Army reserve force
Actress Nathalie Hart is set to join the Army’s reserve force after undergoing the 45-day Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) that started on May 15, 2022 at the National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group’s headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Hart, who have starred in various movies and hit television series, will undergo the BCMT that is conducted for civilians who seek to be part of the country’s reserve force. BCMT is geared at equipping trainees with basic military knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them in times of mobilization.
It can be recalled that Army reservists, hand in hand with regular troops and other responders, launched timely relief and rescue efforts that saved lives in the aftermath of calamities, particularly in the aftermath of Taal eruption in January 2020 and the onslaught of Typhoon “Odette” late last year and Tropical Storm “Agaton” last month.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., has earlier said that the command is aiming to recruit quality reservists that will effectively complement the Army's regular force. The Philippine Reservists Act (Republic Act 7077) mandates reserve units to assist relief and rescue efforts during calamities and socio-economic development initiatives.
The Army currently has around 790,000 standby and ready reserves that performed an important role in the successful implementation of development support and security operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, especially in its humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts.
