After Mindanao and the Visayas, Luzon is expected to experience rains but not as heavy and destructive as in previous days, the weather agency said on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the rains would be felt in northeastern Luzon and Metro Manila early next week as a cloud band brought by the “cold front†is expected to move up on Sunday.
A cold front occurs when a mass of cool air replaces that of warm air, forming clouds that bring precipitation.
Graciano Yumul Jr., acting PAGASA chief, said the cold front would move up to northeast Luzon—and affect Metro Manila—on Sunday or Monday from northeast Mindanao and eastern Visayas. It could bring light to moderate rains, he said, but added that the forecast could change in the next few days. -- pna
