The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), more popularly known as the Pag-IBIG Fund, will issue new Identification (ID) cards for its 7,224,698 members nationwide, just like the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) or the Social Security System (SSS) for proper identification.
Pag-IBIG Branch Manager Ibrahim Lajarato said that these cards will be in the hands of its members nationwide by the first quarter of this year.
Lajarato said Pag-IBIG offices are now going over their lists of members to consolidate data for use in the permanent ID cards for its members.
The office will start the mentioned process by giving their members their permanent Pag-IBIG numbers before the end of this year and their laminated cards next year.
In Zamboanga City the Pag-IBIG office counts 93,766 members.
The members will only have one Pag-IBIG number and this will be their number while they are members of Pag-IBIG.
Some Pag-IBIG members have several ID numbers because they worked in several companies.
Lajarato explained that for those who worked in several companies and different employers and were provided with many Pag-IBIG numbers, Pag-IBIG will choose one number and the member will be informed that this will be his or her permanent number. - PNA
